I have no idea were this recipe came from, but this looks like a fairly basic cookie recipe to me. He claims they're divine...
Cream sugars and shortening:
1/2 c. Crisco (you can use butter/margarine, but they will be flatter and more crispy)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
Add, and stir:
1 egg
1/2 t. vanilla
Add (sifted), and stir:
1 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder or baking soda
Add, and stir:
1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. chocolate chips
Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.

the recipe comes from my summer supervisor, who said she and her dad used to make these as a special daddy-daughter treat.
I do not believe I've had a better cookie in my life. Our future Daughters-Souffle and I will have to adopt Summer-Supervisor's tradition.
And future Sons-Souffle,
And Spouses-Souffle,
And in-laws-Souffle,
and out-laws-Souffle...
